Discover the flavorful world of plank grilling. A delicious mingling of aromatic Hickory wood and natural moisture gives fish, meat, poultry, and vegetables a more distinctive smoky succulence and appealing fresh flavor.
Shagbark Hickory, also known, as white or red heart hickory is a very hard and dense wood. As a result is burns slowly, produces a lot of heat and is best used for grilling and smoking. The aroma of burning green hickory wood has long been used to give smoked hams and cheeses their distinctive flavor. The sapwood of hickory is white, tinged with fine brown lines while the heartwood is pale to reddish brown. Both are course-textured and the grain is fine, usually straight, but can be wavy.
Hickory grilling planks offer a modern grilling method that conveniently lends a rich smoky flavor with mild, bacon-like notes. Hickory Plank Grilling will impart a more intense flavor to shrimp, game hens, chicken, pork, shish kabobs, vegetables, and more!
Nature's Cuisine Hickory Grilling Planks are made from untreated wood that must be soaked for 60 minutes prior to use to add moisture and resist burning while on the grill. Add even more zest to your foods by add dry white wine, apple cider, citrus or berry juice to your soaking liquid. If the plank is charred through, cruble it into bottom of your barbecue and use as smoking chips. If the plank is not completely blistered, you can reuse it. Simply rinse clean with warm, soapy water and let dry.
Package contains three 7" x 15" x 3/8" untreated Hickory Grilling Planks by Nature's Cuisine for use with all charcoal and gas grills. Each package contains recipes and instructions for use.
