The Santa Maria Photo Collection

A growing form of tourism throughout Europe is Agriturismo ("agricultural tourism") where guests stay in small establishments either located on or in close proximity to working farms. Numerous such establishments thrive throughout the Chianti region of Tuscany amidst the vineyards and olive groves.

We were fortunate enough to have located this absolutely charming guest house called Santa Maria Case Nel Chianti (Saint Maria in Chianti). Originally, the buildings housed a working church and associated residences, but more recently these 800 year old buildings (that's not a typo) were converted to ten guest apartments by the current owners.

This collection of digital photographs were taken on the grounds and also capture the panoramic vistas available in almost any direction.
