Recently we traveled to Italy and to its neighbor to the east, Slovenia. We highly recommend a visit to Slovenia’s main city, Ljubljana (pronounced “lube-lee-ah-na”).
Slovenia describes itself as the country on the sunny side of the Alps, and rightfully so. The northern part of the country features the Alps with all of their splendor, and as you travel southwards, the terrain becomes flatter and more agricultural. Smack in the middle is Ljubljana. It provides a terrific base from which to travel through the country.
We spent a wonderful week in Ljubljana, staying at the mini duplex apartment (pictured here). The apartment is beautifully situated along the river. It is an easy walk to the nearby shops and restaurants which are plentiful and quite good. Nearby parking is good and the apartment is a short distance from the highway making day trips around the country quite easy.
The accommodations are very clean, modern and comfortable. Being business people, the inclusion of high speed Internet and a PC made communications very easy, including using Skype for low cost calls back to the US.
The staff was wonderful to work with. We highly recommend the mini duplex for a couple wishing to explore Slovenia!
